Ritterkunst Fechtschule is dedicated to the study of Medieval Martial Arts north of Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 2015 by Jessica Finley, the school is continuing the tradition of interpretation, practice, and implementation of Liechtenauer's art by focusing on working directly from medieval sources and understanding the Art holistically. Areas of study include Longsword, Sword and Buckler, Messer, Dagger, Wrestling (Ringen), and fighting in Armor (Harness).
We welcome and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to come out to train, learn, and grow with us. Whether you call it Historical Martial Arts, Historical Fencing, or HEMA, there is something here for everybody. Book/history lovers can dive into the many manuscripts, the fitness minded can find new ways to push their bodies, and competitive types can set their sights on tournaments. Whatever amount of energy you’re willing or able to put in, those who stick with it are often surprised to discover what their bodies are capable of.

Classes
Feel free to join us at a class or spectate. Classes start out with a guided warm-up, followed by paired drills, with free-play and sparring towards the end and/or after class.

Rotating study
It is recommended for new students to attend the Tuesday Longsword classes until developing a foundation for the varied topic Thursday sessions.
